The monastic--at least meditative part of that is interesting. We're discussing a labyrinth, though. Thanks for the Village connection. I would add, give everyone the opportunity to share in small groups after the worship/meditation on how it was meaningful to them, and why, to recognize how the Holy Spirit ministers to each of personally, in a meaningful way as we seek His face together... I hope this Sunday evening gathering becomes a reality for you... I think the Village in Tucson (a new monastic type congregation) does something like this on Sunday evenings... they actually have a conference this fall on it... see their "about" page

http://www.villagersonline.com/Bev Sterknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-119270472100281278.post-91374400706901319152017-06-05T04:00:26.762-04:002017-06-05T04:00:26.762-04:00Very interesting John. I think your notion of targeting young adults and those with young children could work - for part of the winter we reside in San Diego, where I am a part of an inspiring spiritual community which is mostly 30-something parents and their children, plus younger adults (often students at UCSD, etc.). SojournGrace.com

As a Sunday morning worship it has to overcome the tendency toward a monoculture (although a much livelier and warm one that the greying monocultures of most of our United Churches). As a Sunday evening alternative it might work well. There is a very active (closed) FB group which fosters the community spirit for that demographic.

tom_carey_home@hotmail.comThos Careyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12156203678339080383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-119270472100281278.post-46908122071381881162017-05-15T22:56:55.971-04:002017-05-15T22:56:55.971-04:00You're gonna think this is a minor detail, and...You're gonna think this is a minor detail, and it is, but I gotta call you out on this. Once again, it's "militant atheists." I explained in a comment on a previous post where you used this term why you should stop using it. And you agreed to stop. So stop already. Or maybe do a post on why you felt compelled to use this term again?Neutron Saladnoreply@blogger.com
